To start with cabbage soup diet, it is important to have recipe of these diets. There have been dramatic changes occurred since first diet recipe evolved in 1950s. In early times it was recommended to cook a diet soup for an hour or so, which obviously killed most of the nutritional values and ingredient of the cabbage. 1. STANDARD RECIPE

Ingredients:
6 large green onions
2 green peppers
1 or 2 cans diced tomatoes
1 bunch of celery
01 envelope of dry onion soup mix
1 or 2 bouillon cubes (some versions specify low-sodium vegetable flavor) if desired
1 large head of cabbage
01 8-oz can of V-8 juice (optional)

Preparation of the soup involves cutting of the vegetables into smaller pieces and add them into a large pot for the cooking process. Now cover the vegetables with water and boil the mixture, later simmer the whole mixture just for 10-15 minutes. Serve the soup with parsley, Worcestershire sauce, and/ or black pepper.

2. MILITARY DIET RECIPE

Ingredients:
2 13-ounce cans of chicken broth
1 large bunch of celery
2 bunches of spring onions
1 large head of cabbage
1 large can of whole tomatoes
3 large bell peppers
Salt and pepper to taste

The recipe is quit simple, all you need to do is to cut vegetables into small pieces, cover them with chicken broth and tomato paste in large cooking pot. Cook the mixture for 15 minutes and is ready to serve.
